OK so when i come to a stop in my truck my volt meter drops almost all the way down and every thing dims out. I had the alternator tested and it tested good. It had an output of 48amps at idol, its rated for 95amps. The battery also tested good.
So any Ideas why my voltage drops so drastically when at idol?????

autozone tested mine and said it was fine, the truck died on my way home. I put a new one in and its been fine for two years. I dont always trust they know what theyre talking about

while its running check the charging voltage. also check the tension on the belt.

Loose battery connections? Bad grounds? Check battery cables for corrosion/tightness (specifically the negative side), add an extra 4 gauge wire from the firewall ground to negative side of battery.

It's a wire by wire job. Search. Plenty of people have gone through this.
