I haven't been into car audio for about 5 years now, but I've got a spare amp and JL sub just starring at me. I don't want to upgrade the factory HU or speakers right now, because they don't sound terribly bad and I don't have the money I would want to spend. So I'm just wanting to add to. I've used the search function but I'm not finding what I need to know. First off I have the head unit is the one that is single disc, but it has SAT capability (not installed). I don't know if this Explorer has an amp, and I don't know if it has a factory sub. Here is pic of the head unit taken from the owners manual.
I talked with crutchfield and they told me which harness I would need if I have a factory amp. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120705521/Ford-Receiver-Wire-Harness.html?tp=2977.
As always, thanks for your help guys.
