Amp hookup w/ stock HU

Brian, I got the fax, thanks. I haven't been able to compare it to my explorer yet. I've got a couple of questions though.

1) On pin 9 you marked it as "Amp ground" does that mean the ground for the amp inside the factory deck?

2) Could I take the "sub out" RCA on the back of my Sony deck and connect it to pins 7 and 8 on plug 3 ( sub + and - )?

3) Whats the voltage required to turn on the factory sub amp?

Thanks for all the help.

That is normally a referance ground for the external amp. If you are replaceing the factory radio I just ground it with the aftermarkets radio ground.
You can try it and see if it works. I sometime have to use a Peripheral Interface called a Vendetta 2.
The amp turn on out of a factory Ford radio is about 5.5 volts. We just hook up the remote turn on lead from the aftermarket radio to the factory lead.
If you are hooking uo a aftermarket amp to the factory head unit the turn on lead does not provide enough voltage so we use another Peripheral piece called a LVT (low Voltage Trigger). It takes the turn on lead and gives you a 12 volt 1 amp output.
