I've got an amp that I want to use for my PA speaker, but I can't figure out a good place to mount it. I'm planning on putting the speaker on the rear where the spare tire would go (I've already got dixie horns mounted there so it's less work, and it's the only place the speaker will fit). I was thinking about in the cargo area on the driver's side, behind the wall there but I would have to figure out how to get the wires to the underside of the truck. Thanks for any advice anyone has for me

My amp is under the rear seat on the driver side. Seat still folds down, but the webbing under the seat still can contact the top. I just toss a washcloth on top to avoid damage.

Could you just drill through the rear cargo floor, behind the rear cargo area side trim somewhere? Avoiding lines or wiring underneath, of course. Then just grommet the hole and caulk around the wiring to help keep out the elements and help with vibration?

Yeah, I could drill a hole through the floor, I was trying to see what maybe some other people have done, but it looks like I kinda have to in order to get my wires down there.

Why would you drill holes in the floor?

I have my amp in the same spot, except on the passenger side, I didn't drill a single hole. The wiring ran under the plastic trim along the side and then comes up behind the seats. No drilling needed, and the amp doesn't move when it's there.

For an outside PA speaker-

There are some drain holes under the carpet in the rear hatch area. You could just cut a hole in the drain grommet and go through.
You could mount the amp inside the driver side rear trim panel. Open the stash bin and take a look toward the front of the vehicle, there should be plenty of room. Then run the wiring under the rear carpet to the drain plug.

I clearly read that properly..

There's also a grommet right under the center console that runs to right above the drive shaft, tons of room there for wires.
