I'm shopping for Anderson style quick connectors to run out the front bumper for jumping other vehicles, running auxiliary 12v equipment, and eventually to power a removable winch.

My question is...how much Amp draw should I plan for? 175A or the huge 350A?

Mt last name is Anderson and I had no idea there was a connector named after me.

Could you please elaborate for me :D

Aldive - Do you know if their "kits" are complete (both sides) units? The prices seem to be the same as what I was looking at from a different company: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...m=290163861974&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=019

This is an "Anderson" style quick-connect plug...Warn makes one too:

Any takers on what Amp draw I should be running? Power would come from an isolated Yellow Top Optima...120A Isolator, 90A Alternator. (I don't want to burn up too small of a connector, but would rather burn the connector than an isolator...and the truck)

if you are planning on anything long term, i woulod stray from these plastic plugs and actually get a dedicated power box, like they do for home electric being run outside because it will shield the connector and plastics from uv or elemental exposure. you can get them several places, i would look into a fleet vehicle or public service vehicle place. jcwhitney may have them as well, probably where i will get mine from

badge if thats the style u want and dont have a color preferance i have a line on used ones got a set a few weeks ago for myself their were mostly gray some blue an red in different sizes for u or any one else that wants a set i can probably get them out to ya shipped for around 20 bucks or so :)

Wolfnuts - I don't care much about color as long as my stuff works. The site said you couldn't receive private messages...Could you send me a message with what you have and what Amps they are rated for? Maybe a picture? Thanks.
Send it to: turbo95tsi@yahoo.com

Wolf - I sent you a reply e-mail. I determined that I need 175 Amp, 600 Volt connectors. (One pair for the front of the truck, one pair for the rear)

What are you working on requiring that amount of power? If those are peak values, then you're looking at a power consumption of 105,000 Watts...

Lol, ya that's what I figured out. My choice really came down to physical size in the end. The site Wolf pointed out (above) seems pretty promissing since the cheapest I found locally was $50 each at NAPA. Thanks for the help guys:navajo:

At $50 a connector, you're better off using Lemo connectors. We use these at work for multiple purposes. Reliable, durable, high quality.
