I have made a few post on here about wanting to do a 5.8 swap, I got a decent amount of feed back and have cross referenced alot with the ranger staition, I have a 96 Explorer 5.0 awd, I have amassed a lot of parts for several different swaps going on first is a 5.8 from a lightning truck 95 a Paxton supercharger kit from a 93 stang complete kit ran on a 5.0. I was told that exhaust manifolds from the early 70's would fix the clearance issue with the steering so I have a set that I tired my best at porting, I have a bw4406 transfer case and the drive shafts needed for the swap and a aod trans for 4x4, my biggest issue is electronics. Will my computer run the 5.8? I need larger injectors right? Is it a better idea to keep my current trans and beef it up?I was told the 5.8 distributor was different and it looks it, can I combine them? Feed back is a big plus seeing as I'm not to much of a ford guy I am unsure of the electronics but I love my Explorer!!!!
