I need to know if anyone who has put the ranger body lift on a 1996 ex had to extend any battery cables, or anything like that? Because once the weather turns around here I want to put it on and it would be really nice if I knew what I was getting into. Also, there is directions for putting on a body lift on an older ex on this site, do the same directions apply for everything? Thanks a lot!
Ben

I'll get into detail if you want, but I put mine on by myself in my drive way in one day. I did a lot of reading on this site before hand, but it was not that bad. Have some big wood blocks to put on your jack. Soak the body bolts like crazy. Heat them a lot w/ a little propane torch before you go to loosen each one. Be careful not to burn the existing rubber.

The nite before:

Take out the front seats, and at least get the back seats off the floor. Take out all the carpet in the back, fold and weigh down the carpet in the front. Take off the front bumper. I didn't take off my back one at all. Have not relocated either yet. Waiting to get tube bumpers.

My biggest problem was getting the radiator supports on the bottom to bolt into the existing supports. They hang below the existing supports, and the radiator slides into them. It was a pain, but it went eventually. Good luck,

Holy crap that's a lot of work.

Forget about taking out the seats, you can access everything with out doing that. As for the lower core rad mounts just drill the hole bigger so that you can move around enough to get the bolt thru.

The hardest thing for you will be the core body mounts. These are the very front mounts and they will be rusted like an SOB. Lost of WD-40 and patience.

Good luck...

It's really not any thing hard, and it makes the job a lot easier. There are 5 bolts that hold in the front seats, and they pop right out. The back seats have another 4 nuts holding them to the floor, just flip them back and tie in place. It's just sooooo much easier to have the seats out to get some extra room for both you, and to bend the carpet out of the way. The back carpet doesn't have to come out, but once you take the very back trim piece off, it just comes right out.

i have a sport so it might be different than the XLT but i didnt have to remove the seats just slide them up and folded the carpet back.

As for extending anything just the steering ext. which is in the kit and relocate the E-brake if u want to but i didnt it went back where it was.
