Was driving down the road in my week old LTD (<400mi) and was surprised to see my right info screen going nuts. Pulled over to record it with my phone as there was almost no way I could explain it properly to the service department. Figured I'd add a new entry to the unfortunately growing list if interesting issues. Now only if they can get MFT as reliable as the rest of the vehicle... :)

Glad to see I am not the only one having issues. Mine locks up and last week it would not turn on for a period. I did get the message that it was performing scheduled maint. after that and it has been working.

It's a great truck it needs MFT help.:us:

hey its microsoft the should have gone with apple !!!!!!

I would urge anyone considering a purchase to be very aware of the problems with MFT. If I had to do it again, I would have waited for the 2012 model to come out with a clean bill of health. I would also likely order one WITHOUT MFT and put in a really nice aftermarket head unit that WORKS.

That's cool - from a technical perspective, of course. :)

Haven't seen that fail yet with MFT.

The interesting part is that it's happening in a vehicle with Nav.

Not sure if Nav is the common thread among the more serious MFT failures, but it seems it might be.

It's day two in the shop and they haven't been able to identify the root cause (however they have no problem re-creating it). The full list of issues it's having includes a now non-working bluetooth interface, random white screen (main display), and intermittent nav/card reader malfunction. Luckily the dealer is extremely reputable so when they say their working with Ford engineers on the issue, I believe them.

I have not yet picked up my vehicle due to dealer transfer problems, but what is the MFT...I assume the Sync? screen?

MFT = My Ford Touch. It's the infotainment system that consists of the center screen and on the LTD the right dash LCD panel. It controls the screen, navigation, radio, climate, phone, ambient lighting. Think of it as the visual interface to the car whereas Sync is the voice-controlled interface.
