Hello all,

like many of you, I have the dreaded smelly A/C on my 97 5.0 X. I've tried the lysol trick and it seemed to help, but I can still smell it vaguely. I heard some people talk of "unplugging the A/C condenser" on here to let the trapped water seep out. Can anyone give me info how to do this? Thanks in advance all.

Pass side, under the car, right below the dashboard - there is a small rubber tube sticking out below the floor. This is the drain for the AC condensation to escape the passanger compartment. This time of year, especially in Florida, you should see water under the car after you have been parked for a few minutes. If you can't, that hose might be obstructed. Best solution is to blow compressed air up it - I've used one of those cans they sell to clean off computer keyboards. You can also try a straightened out coathanger. Just be gentle.

thank you very much. I am gonna check this out as soon as i get home.
