Hey everyone,

I've been searching and had a couple of questions you might be able to help me with on my wife's '06.

Looking to sell the roof rack and hopefully relocate the spare back under the vehicle...

I have the cable sticking down underneath and wondering what else I need to mount it? Also, any place I can buy it besides the dealership?

Lastly, I caught a mention of 31.5" being the max tire size? Anyone able to stick a 32" back under there?

Thanks,
Tim

So I guess you put the spare on the roof of the truck before, and now you want to put it back where it was originally ?

You should have the cable hanging down with a metal piece at the end shaped in such a way that it loops thru the center hole of the rim and then holds the spare up and then you can just crank it up.

Hope that answers the questions.

It was bought used and the tire was already on the rack. Just don't know what I'm looking for or if a 32" tire will fit. Thank you.

The 4th Gen explorers use full size spare, so whatever the tire size it came with (check the door sticker) that will fit under the chasis, and maybe a little bigger.
