Hey guys I just bought a 97'4x4 sport and the previous owner jacked up the torsion bars.Looks like its poppin a wheelie . I plan on installing four door leaf packs and warrior 2" shackles to replace the monoleaf setup.I have been searching for a couple days trying to find the original ride height in the front so I can determine if i have to lower the bars or hopefully raise them.Any help on finding the original height or suggestions on where to look would be great. Its probaly a stupid question, but I'm new to the wonderful world of explorers and still learning!

I dont even know the original ride height.. and if someone also knows what angle the control arms should be at, or cant o above that would help also. I think it may be 30* but I am unsure.

if your putting new leafs in the rear with shackles you probably wont have to lower the front. Have you maybe thought that its just the rear springs worn out thats making it look like that...

Most 2nd gen's are prone to rear sag (or what I call a bad ass). My 95 is like that. Best thing I can say is check out cars.com or other similar site to determine the curb height in the front, most car research pages like that will have OEM specs (curbs height, length, headroom, etc etc).

I turned my bars down a bit to remove the bad rake I had (over an inch difference after the sag in the rear), now it looks like I'm a friggen big car, complete opposite of what I want to do in the long run, but looks better then the big fender gap I had.

My front fender well sits about 33 inches stock ride height

But my rear is about 32 so shackles are comming soon

Originally the CV's should look like they are parallel to the ground, not pointed down, which is what they look like if the torsion bars are tweek to get more clearance. There is no standard height. Adjusting the torsion bars changes the angle of the CV's by picking up or lowering the front suspension.

I'm pretty sure my monoleaf is sh*t thats why i want the new leafs and shackles, basicly i just wanted the curb height to know if i could go higher.thanks for your replys
