DO NOT put stop leak in it! FIX IT! Stop leak is designed as a temporary fix only. You don't want to end up spending a fortune replacing your cooling system because you didn't want to fix the origional problem. Stop leak sounds like a good cheap fix, but remember, if it is able to clog a leak what else is it going to clog?

Yeah, putting in leak stopper is a Bad Idea. It precipitates on contact with air so in theory forms a sort of plug at the site of the leak. Problem is, it also blocks up the fine tubes in your radiator.

Ditto on the don't use Stop Leak. The radiator cap is removed by pushing down and turning(same time) I believe in the counter clockwise direction. Sounds like you might be new to the maintenance thing. If so, get yourself a HAynes or Chilton manual and check things out. If you can turn a screwdriver or wrench, you can do almost everything in there. Plus, you have this board to ask.

A good place to start...

I'd say no on the stop leak also. If it is large enough to notice, it is often too big to fix with stopleak anyway. First thing I would do is try to locate the leak. When I first got my truck I had several all related to either the overflow tubing or the overflow canister... both relatively easy and cheap fixes (about the cost of a good can of stop leak anyway ;) ).

I guess you don't use stop leak
LOL
