Ok so I bought a 2002 mountaineer a few days ago and it seems to be having more and more issues hourly

The front window will go down but wont come back up... Would the motor going out cause this to happen?

None of the buttons on the steering wheel work but the horn does... I have no clue?

The gas gauge isnt working (but after much searching I went up and got some AC Delco fuel system treatment plus to see if that fixes that problem)

and then the BIG problem being the transmission which I am still kicking myself in the butt for not researching more and finding out about the poor tranny problems with this model.

sorry to hear about the problems you are having. i also own an 02' mounty. ive had alot of little problems with it in the short time owning it. your not alone, the issue with the steering wheel controls is a common problem for alot of early 2000 fords. i have some buttons that work all the time and some that work when they want to. all your controls should still work fine from the source ( heater, radio ect. ) the window problem sounds like it could be just a switch, if it is your passenger side window try both switches.....it also could be as simple as a bad connection or lose wire.from the switch to the actuator . my mounty got my ass to work through both blizzards we just had before the tranny decided to go out. the shop has had it now for almost 2 weeks. luckily they talked me into the 1 year powertrain warranty. if it turns out to be something simple i'll get back to you, maybe it will help. all in all for the money both explorer and mounty are still very good vehicles. ( opinion of course )
