We are thinking about putting together our own 4.0L OHV Vortec kit. It would be like the one that vortech sells except it would come with an Apten custom tuned chip, 28lb injectors, an 80mm MAF sensor, and a 190lph fuel pump instead of utilizing the vortec FMU. The normal vortec kit sells for $3472, I think our kit would come in at $3699 and be capable of higher boost levels due to the upgraded fuel system. So basically you would get about $800 worth of upgraded parts for only $227 more, and a more precise setup

Just curious if there would be enough people intrested to warrant the R&D time to put that all together.

Including the blower, intake tubing, belt, pullies, mount, gaskets, everything?

Apten chip burned for the specific EEC code?
what # pulley would you supply with the kit?

yep, it would be the whole kit. Instead of an FMU and the vortec pump system it would have the larger in tank pump, 80mm lightning MAF sensor, 28lb injectors, and a chip programmed for the EEC code.

For pulley sizes, we can include whichever size you want. We will probably recommend the stock size (4-5lb I believe) but also have a 6-8lb pulley available. It's a V-2 SQ S-Trim, so you could make even more boost if you wanted to get crazy.

Hmm...doesnt sound like a bad deal. You need a guinea pig car for expieriments? LOL.

what kind of performance numbers are you expecting to try and achieve with this setup?

I'de be all about it if I didn't just pay for my chip and Pro-M MAF.

It would be awesome if I had that amount of cash though... if you could make it like half the cost it would sell a lot more ;)

or maybe one that is a bit lower with less miles, and rebuilt trans and clutch eh eh cmon

im definatly interested. of course, i dont have a job right now... and i have to pay rent. if this is still up when i can afford it, im in

i would be interested only if you can get a tranny to hold it :)

OH I see how it is. Now you guys come out with this thing. I'v already got one built. Use mine for a test vehicle. Just get out to Cali to tune it. We'll all be happy.

hey, i just turned 100k...not bad for a 93, and i do have a new clutch.

What years would it be for. I have a '99 witht he returnless fuel system. Would I have to modify it to have a return line?

Otherwise, I am interested. I'd rather just bolt on a nice SC kit than do the 302 swap. Lesst ime and $$.

Definitely keep us updated.

Yes you can!! Its a very simple couple of items you'll have to do but its well worth the time.

If your serious ask Brian or me, we can help you out no problem.

Later Doug904.

I have a 97 4 door AWD with 5 spd manual, and I'm very interested in a blower. How do I get hooked up with you guys?

ok well i am nterested but on a 94 wth 155k on the odometer, i think i'd have to be retarted. however i would be interested in bigger injectors and a larger calbrated MAF. i dont know what stock # injectors are i'd guess 14 or 19. i plan on some other engine related things including a complete top half rebuild. so bigger injectors and MAF might be helpful.
"if you wanna get blown, ask your girlfriend" lol

I would like to get in on this, Id like to see some dyno results first though ....

I might be interested, tried the BBK instacharger and returned it, just too much hacking and mickey mousing to be used on a vehicle that needs the relaible on long camping trips in the middle of nowhere and also not have to rely on a boost controller to keep from detonating. One quick unexpected downshift with a 5000# camper in back going up a big hill..and KABOOM..

If this system can provide the realability, durability and performance.......
I like the idea of a Aspen chip and no FMU, but how are you going to tune a Aspen chip for all the variables in each year?
