Any one ever use this stuff?

So I keep getting cheaper and cheaper. I went from wanting to powder coat my rims black to wanting to spray paint them myself. Then I saw this product, Dupli-Color Spray On Bed Liner. I would think this would serve my purpose well since it should be very durable and its black. Also, it would be cool if it has the same texture as the Line-X product, but I highly doubt it from a spray can. What do you guys think?

I just used a whole can yesterday! It is bada$$! Looks like the real stuff! I sprayed my pads on my nerf bars with it. It textures upon drying, sprays like thick paint. I used the rustoleum hammertone finish on my mazda pickemup wheels, looks really good! I dont know how the bedliner spray would work on steel wheels.

For the love of... please don't! What rims do you have now, and what do you want them to look like? With that product, your rims will look torn up shortly... don't know if it will adhere correctly.

Haha, this is why I ask first before I do anything. What do you mean by torn up Donner? These are my wheels:

I called up Rustoleum today and they said their bed liner would work on wheels.

And just for the sake of asking, how many cans do you think I would need gmanpaint if I decided to do this on 4 16" wheels.

Thats what I am thinking, It is really not a good choice. The rustoleum I mentioned, that is some tuff stuff! It gives a slight crackle appearence, and thickens up a bit. It has taken abuse for 4 yrs now from the first application. Not even a scratch. TUFF STUFF!

If you must, Prolly 4 cans. $9/can x 4 =$36.00 + tax
2 cans of Rustoleum Hammertone = $12.00 Will last for a loooong time.

Go with ^^ gmanpaint... The bed liner will probably start to chip away with your wheels spinning, they aren't going to look as good as they would on the body of the vehicle - I see chunks breaking off

Yours look alloy. You might want to use an etching primer first, followed by a high build primer, wet sand w/440, then spray the hammertone.

I dont have a pic downloaded of the Mazda. I will try tomorrow. It is a work rig and its been thru heck and back. The wheels still look great!

They say they can be used with wheel rims, but dosnt specify alloy or steel. Maybe I'll call them tomorrow to make sure, but thanks for the great advice. This one say its a gloss finish, is that what yours is? I was looking for more of a semi-gloss or even a flat.

Yea he did, they came out awesome too. I want the same thing just not as much shine.

Yeah I think it is a gloss, but more a semi-gloss. Dont matter, you get some road use on them, and they will look a matte finish anyways! I would not go flat! The more sheen it has the more it will repel matter. Flat will suck up everything! Oil, brake dust, grease, you name it! Looka like crappola!

The truck bed coating would be a very unique look. If you sand down all gloss off your current rim... it will adhere nicely. Sand the crap out of them... hit them with some acetone... then spray the bedliner.

I'm not sure why everyone is trashing the idea... I would suggest getting a quality bed liner though. ie: Herculiner, Line-X, Gator Guard

Take a risk!!! Maybe others will follow... you never know until you try.

Maybe on a spare wheel for a trial run. Yeah you never know. I just am not sure about the adhesion properties, a lot of centrifugal force there in a spinning tire.

Do a demo on a spare... or a jy rim... I personally would like to see it, but not on rims that will be in use.
