Which motor do you have? What are you wanting to do with the explorer. Do you want a power improvement, handling, braking, off-road, etc. There are tons of things that can be done from small and cheap, to huge and expensive. Giving us an idea of what you want will help us give recommendations.

well its a V6 Sohc 2wd, not very expensive stuff though mainly lighting, off road, and power improvements. thanks

It depends on what you like. What kind of a look do you want to go for?

Pre-runner?

Mud machine?

Rock crawler?

Being 2WD most of your improvements are going to be aesthetic more than functional but there are some functional improvements that can be made (rear locker namely).

If it was me and I was going for a mildly built truck that can handle some light off-roading (maybe more like muddy trails to get firewood or forest roads to go camping) I would do the following in this order:

- Rear locker
- Body lift (size is your choice really)
- 31" tires
- Light bar with off-road lights (do a search on here for $10 light bar)

That's what I would do at least. Save for the light bar none of these are super cheap but I think you get the best bang for your buck this way.

Another important question is what kind of money are you looking to spend?
Who is going to do the install/modification work?
I'm just throwing things out as I think of them.

A good place for inspiration on here are the registries. Check out what other guys have done and see what you like and what you don't before you spend any money. It helps to make purchases that you're sure you won't regret.
