Id like to see them make a snorkel kit for our trucks.

I'm not a newbie but I'm zero percent mechanic. I use the search function. I also post and I'm sure the answer is already somewhere in here - no doubt. That said the support from all the experiences owners to the new and inexperienced owners is huge and helps tremendously... Koda2000 has responded to some of my posts in years past.

I had a piece of garbage 2002 4.0 explorer and unfortunately was hit with transmission rebuild followed by timing chain both within a year at around 120k. CarComplaints.com classifies 2002-2006 as AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. This forum convinced me to move backwards in time to Gen2 5.0 AWD vehicles. So I'm sure we can be frustrating but we get tremendous value from the forum and its frequent contributors including koda2000.

My 06 has been great aside from the timing chains and the fuel pressure sensor. I do however change the oil in thing like clock work.

Koda will always be a explorerforum legend Imo

Btw koda translated into Cherokee is friend

Hope to see you sometime old friend

@koda2000 and I have had our disagreements about approaches to certain things, but his knowledge is always valuable to the forum.

I wish him well.

How did you do that btw?
Remove the body, clean and paint, done, easy. That was from my reconstruction of the 99 rollover I bought. After saving the front clip, and welding on my old 93 rear body, I painted the front to match the back, so much of it under the hood was new(hoses and air cleaner etc).

Rotflmfao! Can I get a link to that rebuild I'm like how nice

Thanks, I did that in 2006 and finished it Feb. 2007, it's the link in my signature below.

The only big name word misuse I hate is "intake." To me and the world before about 1990, an intake was an intake manifold. Never was the air cleaner or filter, or the inlet pipe or hose called an intake. Now everyone names the entire air cleaner/filter/pipe assembly an air intake. That is wrong and dumb, the word intake is short for intake manifold, and it should always stay that way.

It comes from cold air intake, which is correct terminology. Like many things in our language it became shortened due to laziness.

Kids that are seeking knowledge that we need to pass down
Could be said about a lot of things, but especially true here.
I too have had some problems w/ the search--Not complaining @Rick.
I recently was looking for a post from @CDW6212R about larger brakes. No luck finding, so resorted to looking w/ my mouth and asked him.
He graciously not only answered the question, Don gave me a large amount of insight into a project on his to do list, lots of pictures too.

We will miss seeing the answers Koda furnished, but can understand where he is coming from.
Best of Life to Koda

koda, i dunno if youre reading this, but thank you so much for all your contribution here. youre responses have helped me fix my rig and save me some money throughout school, so i just want to say thank you because youve helped so much. stay safe and i wish nothing but the best for you! happy trails!

That will be something to be done when the ole 302 gives up the ghost and gets stroked.

I'd like to thank @koda2000 too(also) (for those that don't know 2,to,too), for all of the help and guidance in the past. He has a lot of 4.0 SOHC hands on experience as well as many others here too.
MERRY CHRISTMAS to all and have a safe and healthy Christmas etc.

As a newer member but someone who used the site for many years, the search function is decent but not exactly the best. And the one issue I run into the most is missing pictures, links to no where, and parts that dont exist anymore. But I definitely always start with the awesome sticky with all the useful links. And have used my own build thread for redundant questions seems less spammy.
