ive never seen them before but i love the black they look good i wanna see them on the truck if you get them...pics!! are they HIDs

energie, there was a group buy for those on here back in feb. if you find celly on here, he has a set, and i think he might be near you. that or he's in calgary, cant remember off the top of my head.

I was gonna say, there was a huge group buy on those, talk to "Celly" he was the "leader" or whatever you'd wanna call it lol

thanks both of you, i looked him up and PMed him, but I'm pretty sure he has these ones.

and if i am correct Section525 has a write up on how to install these also. That might helpful :dunno:

Yea, those were the ones from the group buy, my bad, they had em in black and chrome, idk which ones I like better! lol

I have the second ones as energie correctly stated. All personal preference, but I greatly prefer mine to the other ones. What's with the big gap under the LEDs anyhow? What plugs into those?

I am very happy with my lights and while they have their quirks, I think they're great. Very functional mod. I didn't do it for looks because I prefer the look of Diamond Cut headlights/corners but we all know they work like crap with HIDs.

For the record, I never led that group buy. I just made sure people lived up to their commitments. As we've seen in other group buys, people talk a big talk. I just made sure they walked the walk. :D

Yes, in Calgary. Born in Edmonton but I don't like to admit that. :p:

Dave, I think it was Jamie (410) that has the "other lights". These latest ones look like a 3rd offering.

Mine:

whats wrong with being born in edmonton? lol
the gap under the LEDs? i dont know what youre talking about but the other one is for the signal lights lol. i dunno, the ones i first posted, the newer ones look more appealing to me, just because that top part on the other ones seems pointless. i still like the one piece headlight idea though. i just wanted to see them on a vehicle, because sometimes they look good by themselves but not on your vehicle, so you know

We won't get into the reasons why Calgary is a better city. Edmontonians always get so fired up when we remind them. :D HINT: Sports Championships from 20 years ago and an oversized, under-maintained monstrosity of a shopping mall don't count as reasons to live in a city. :p:

I thought I saw something I didn't on those lights. Ignore the "gap" comment.

The "top" part you mention on mine house a bulb. I think they look great and sort of OEMish. It's all personal preference. I really don't care for the other design. Jamie's actually came out first and I wasn't overly enamored with them. The second design seemed to bring out a lot more interest in the lights so I guess I'm not the only one that saw it that way. '

However, we don't need to be lemmings and do what the other guy does. Whatever works for you is what's important.

yeah its true our city does suck pretty bad.

Actually, Edmonton's not that bad. The rivalry between our cities is a good laugh. Most of my relatives outside of my brothers (Vancouver) live up there. If you think about it, our cities are "similar" in a lot of respects. I just like our location better. I can be to the mountains in about 30 minutes from my place. I also like the fact our airport isn't 1/2 way to Red Deer.

yeah, there are ups and downs
back to the topic at hand lol i wouldnt even know which ones to get. the black are less flashy than chrome, and im getting black tail lights (the ones with black housing and 2 red circles and one reverse) so i think the black would suit more, but the chrome look like 01-03 f150 style harley lights. so i dont know, im not wanting to waste 200-300 on lights in the first place but if i do, they better be good.

The chrome ones just looked better on my ride which already has a chrome grille shell. What colour is your truck?

I have the same set Celly has but now in black. I prefer the ones without the light bar on top. I do still have a set of chrome ones just like Cellys' for sale.

its the same color as 2kv8's but i got a set of black tail lights coming also, i have a chrome grille too but i dont know if that'd be too much chrome. the less the better imo lol

celly who here in calgary are you ordering them through? im looking at speedtech do a hid conversion for me using the factory housing. im more about function as i do a lot of trips through the rogers pass and like having lots of light.

I didn't order them locally. I got my setup from a place in California. Be wary about simply dropping a HID conversion kit into stock housings. While you'll see an increase in light output, you'll also see an increase in glare. I base my comments on three different kit setups. They take a lot of tweaking to keep from blinding oncoming traffic.

I'd never pay someone to do a HID kit install. They're just too simple to install on your own. HID kits have come WAY down in price to if you're paying any more than $100-$150 for the entire kit, you're overpaying. Speedtech seems like an overpriced ricer shop to me.

Consider this guy's setup if you want a real retrofit. It's a very slick setup and will work better than any kit setup. Also, 2KV8 has a good deal on a used projector setup. You'd need to get a HID setup in addition to these projectors though. This is the setup I have and he's selling it for less than 1/2 of what he paid in the same group buy I was in on earlier this year. I almost picked these up as a backup set, but I can't justify the cash outflow at the moment.
