Does anyone know what the Ford rules, if any exist, on there factory paint jobs? Like how long do the guarantee it and stuff and what do they cover?

With all the great stuff you been posting the past two days, curious why your asking the above

I found a couple of spots on the roof. It looks to be a small crack in the paint that is pretty deep. Like a heat stress crack. So I was wondering if I took it to Ford, would they fix that or what? It's not bad, but as you can tell from my detailing, I found it and was curious about it. I know Ford has some sort of warranty on paint defects, but this is so minor it's not a big deal. So let's call this one curiosity. But if Ford warrants the paint from defects for say 10 years and I still own it in 2008, I would want them to fix it.

my paint was only covered under the 3year/36000 mile warrenty
hood started to get cracks and peel

other then the manditory recalls, i find it very hard to get any warrenty work done by a ford dealer, even if its "covered"

You may be able to talk your insurance company into paying for it. This is what I did on my Ford Probe GT when the paint started to peel off. By the way, my hood has those stress cracks in it also. Not sure if I will get it repainted or not.

3/36 - Had one fender redone cause it had a blemish before 36K. Wish I had realized the paint on the roof was cracking also, woulda had that done too. Now I see my rear door bottoms are rusting on the inside, and the step bar too......
