Anyone seen this body kit yet??

nah man, body kits arnt just for imports. people been puttin kits on SUVs and trucks and big bodys way before them lil ricers started doing it.,
What a load! Body kits came around when? Mid to late '80s? And most of them those days were being put on cars (mainly small imports). The kit scene for trucks, and later SUVs, didn't happen until after.

he made that rear bumper look even worse...

husky - most people want a body kit like that, to slam it to the ground easier. it gives it a cool look IMO

Hartman - STFU If i like something I can speak on it and justify it if I want just because my opinions different from ures doesnt make it anymore idiotic.

Robb - before the fast and the furious ricers came around, most body kits Ive seen where on lowriders. a few on ricers, but WAAAAAAY more on lowriders. And of course, on trucks and SUVs, just not as slammed like the newer ones

When I think of lowriders, I think of "six-foes".............is that what you mean?

I don't recall many lowriders having body kits...............I just remember them being low.

OK yep he just confirmed his idiocy.

Lowrider- Impalas on wire wheels, and Hydro's

Streeter- Super Clean look, usily an airdamn, and Roll Pan, Never a big ass back bumper and un godly looking Front, Usily lowered, not soemthign to make it look lowered....

Rice- guady looking all around, big front and rear bumpers that look like ****, fart cans....

did you guys miss out on the 80s or what?

you don't rember the body kits everyone put on their mini trucks (lowriders)?

youv'e got the categories right as they stand now- but back then there was a real body kit/mini truck movement thing going on. el caminos, s10s look at back issues of truckin'

I thought there was too much 'chicken wire' too when I saw it, but then again, the more air you can channel into your engine the better, right?

I think it would look a lot better if those holes were smoothed over... I kinda like the "Mach One" lip on the bottom of the airdam.

body kit

There is only one "body kit" that looks worth a $h!t on a ford-S A L E E N !!!They also serve an aerodynamic purpose-every peice.I bet you lose 15mph top end with one of those kits!

wait until you see the "body kit" i'm building right now in my garage.

Do you have wind tunnels to test it in? You're hinting on an aerdodynamic Saleen-type body kit.

WTF wind tunnels? Body kits aren't made for aerodynamics these days.

GPRACING was talking about aerodynamic kits and then expo5.0 posted about the kit he's making.

are you kidding?

first off no matter what i build it will be better aerodynamically that the saleen kit for the explorer simply because it will be a quarter the size. that kit is huge!

second- um yeah, i'm working on it in my one car garage in my spare time between classes. which only adds to the point that the saleen kit was a pitiful attempt. If i can do something that i like better in a few weekends in a one car garage and for roughly $200 in supplies wth were they thinking building the kit in the first place. no wonder it wasn't a success on the market.

someone post a picture of the saleen kit and tell me that it was primarily designed with aerodynamics in mind...

that said, i agree it is much more aerodynamic than this other hideous body kit this thread is all aboutl.

My friend had an old 87 s-10 with the "Truxarossa" body kit. It was a wide body kit that made the doors of the truck look like ferrari testarossa doors. This truck got everyone lookin cause it was so different from the other type of ground effects kits they had out.

they looked good on the blazers, with 11-13 inch wide wheels on the back!
remember them with the RATICAL targa tops also??????

Yep...i remember those. When I was 14 id get mini trucking magazine and look through it. Never really liked any of the body kits even back then.

Now that you mentioned it, there is a teal blazer that used to be around my area with that kit and the targa top. It got wrecked a few years ago, but at least I met the guy before it got wrecked. He had 15x8 on the front and 15x12 on the rear.
