The 3.0L was never used in the Ford Explorer.

Your best bet is to check out www.therangerstation.com, or even some of the Taurus/Sable sites.

if i recall correctly the t3's are pretty limp for 3.0l+ engines, a single one anyways. most t3's are off of 4cylinder cars up to 2.3l or so, manufactures are cheap so they used turbos that are just big enough for their application, giving a 2.3l motor 8psi of boost will make it flow like a 3.5L or there abouts. you will see boost with one t3, but as the motor breathes deeper it'll die off. turbos can only provide so much air, and the difference in the amount the turbo can flow and the amount the engine can pump is what makes boost.

i know this motor wasn't offered in the X's but the titles does say "ranger" as well, so i figured i would ask.....any input still welcome....on my way to rangerstation next.

There are are a LOT of ranger owners here, but I guarantee you that 99.9% of them are into off-roading. So no talk of turbo's or anything like that.

TRS is just about the best place I could think of to get you pointed in the right direction.
