I am trying to have a special light bar made for an explorer. I want one that will bolt into the roof of my 1996 explorer IN FRONT of the sunroof opening. The only light bar's i have seen are for behind the sunroof, in front of the factory roof rack. If anyone can make an item like this, i will pay kindly for your services. email me at toddious01@aol.com thanks.

I pretty sure the company CARR makes a light bar that goes in front of the sunroof. Its only like 100 bucks i think too.

Someone else will jump in and help

you plan on bolting through your roof?

yeah i have seen one for explorer's that goes over the sunroof without drilling in to the roof..why not put them on the stock roof rack?

anyone ever gotten the carr light rack? i just see that everyone has their lights attached to their roof rack, behind the sunroof, and i think it would look cool to have the lights right on the front of the roof, then the sunroof, then roof rack. anyone done it?

No but I saw a guy in a BII mount then inside at the top of the windshield.

u can buy a thule door mount rack, the front peice only, and use that, it shouldnt cost to much

Any Universal light bar that clips into the door will work. you can find them at pep boys, there are a couple of trucks on the board with light bars like that.

"clips to the door"? you mean, you open your door, clip it around the upper inside frame? are those light bar's good at all? the carr one looks nice, mounts into the grooves along the roof, and is under $100
