Something I did that might help you get better mid-bass is install 8" woofers in the back doors. It took a lot of creativity, but they sound great. I sealed my back doors the best I could w/ silicon and expanding foam, and cut a piece of 1/4" plywood to cover the big hole (access to intior door mechs). 8" woofers barely fit in the botton holes (which look like 5 x 7 holes). Just I thought incase anyone wanted to make some custom mods...

Lets see some pics of that, sounds interesting. I wonder if you could get some 8" free-air subs, and put them in there for some bass. I would love to see some pics if you can get any.

Hey that sounds like an awesome set up. I read your profile. What county in maryland and you a firefighter? My dad is a District Chief and head of Fire Investigations and the Bomb squad in Montgomery County. Maybe you have met him? Brian Geraci. Anyways that sounds like an awesome system with the 8"s.

What kind of subs did you use? How deep were they? 8s would be nice, but I'm afraid I'd get ones too deep.

I'm from Worcester Co MD...about 30 miles south of Ocean City. I'm trying to get some pics of my truck to post so I'll be sure to include a couple of my custom stereo mods. All of my stereo equip is Rockford Fosgate, from the head unit and PA2, to the speakers, amps, and even my fuses and wires.

Right on. I have all rockford stuff too. I was also playing around with putting 8's in my explorer too.
