Anyway to put a switch on RCA's?

Ok, I bought a small cheap amp for my PA speaker and i plan on using the high level inputs to give it the signal from the CB... but I got to thinking and realized that my current setup doesn't have anything running off my rear channel rca's on the back of the HU (I'm running 4 speakers off the front channels on my 4 channel amp and bridged the rear 2 for the sub)

so my question is, is there a way to put a switch on the RCA's so I could sometimes route a music signal through the PA speaker (instead of holding the mic to a speaker like i sometimes do now)

i guess i'm looking for some type of switchable element that is placed inline with the rca cables that opens and closes the connection

(if push comes to shove, I can just leave the radio faded to the front and then fade the rear channel in when I want music to come through the pa speaker)...

i think this would be cool b/c i could play music through the pa speaker and talk on it at the same time (hmmm, or will the amp allow an input from high level and low level at the same time?)

Yes there is a way. Radioshack sells a RCA selector, that should work perfectly for you. It has a couple RCA inputs and a switch that selects which set of inputs to use.

I played beer pong with brandon pace last weekend, seemed like a pretty cool guy...

I don't pin all the blame on him, I mean had we had an O Line we could've put alot more points on the board instead of Randall getting sacked 10 times!

yeah, you can't win with 10 sacks for -78 yards. I haven't met pace, but yeah I don't blame him, it was long and on the left hash, plus major pressure. That was randell and the o lines loss.

no, it has a miniplug (headphone jack).. i wish it had RCA outputs

I wonder if those converters would work for that? The ones that convert minipulg to RCA?

hmm... the thing is, the output from the back of the CB is an amplified signal. given, its only 4W max, but RCA's are a low level signal (usually .2-4.5V)

I have one of those miniplug >> RCA adapters right here, but I'd be afraid of frying the amp
