Hi, someone offering me a 4405 transfer case from their wrecked 97 Ex for 40.00. I have a 1995 Ex and was wondering are they the same and does it need any modification. I really don't need one but may buy it for spare if it's a straight fit. Thanks!

Are you sure its a 4405 in yours cause alot of the 95s had 1354 electric t-cases. Best bet is to match up the actual ford part number on the tag.

It will fit in the 95. Direct bolt on, and the VSS plug, and wire harness will plug right in.

You will have to use a 97+ front drive shaft for it as the front output is different than the 95-96, but that is the only difference.

Check the color of the VSS gear in both of the T-cases. If the 97 is different, install the one out of the 95 in it's place for correct speedometer and shift points.

Thank you all for the feedbacks. Yes it's a 4405, went under and saw the tag and it's marked 4405 on the second row. I will see if he has the driveshaft before buying it.
