I would get a book that has the wiring for the vehicle from which the engine came from, and one for which the engine is going into. That way you know what goes to what and where everything is located.

Once you have that down, it's just a matter of wiring up the engine harness and installing everything.

410Fortune is a wiring GOD (at least to me he is), so you might want to peruse his posts and swaps.

im pretty good at wiring im just hoping i could get that matt harwood swap guide and have it on my computer insted of all that paper that im going to leave fingerprints all over

deffinetly check out 410Fortune's 5.0 swap thread, great read and full of tons of useful information.

there is a member, Spdracer, who is currently doing a 5.0 conversion on his 93? hes getting everything out of a 5.0 explorer but some of the info would be relevant to your 5.0 f-150 swap

Rangers have a truck bed... :D

thats what i sad when i was not serous about the swap but now that im doing it i need to know is the wiring/ engine bay the same i know they shared chassis but how far does that go. or does any one have the matt harwood swap guide that can help me out here.

i have been reading the 410 fortune stuff but im having troubles finding info that is usefull to my situation.

so i take it no one really knows

Give it time, there's more people on here that have done the swap.. is there anything pertaining to the 5.0 I can help you with?

what makes the "HO" diffrient

gt 40 heads must be really good cause everything i read the swappers used them i just wish i knew if the ranger and explorer wiring and frames were the same or not

Frames are basically the same. (They might have slight differences... like my shackles hang down, where as my dad's B series of the same year has them the opposite)

As for the wiring differences.. It's probably the same, if you're using the same drivetrain setup. In later generations, the differences would be found when looking at certain interior features and the GEM wiring.

unfortunately i just got a horrible phone call my motor is not available any more so im a little pissed right now how are the f150 5.0 truck engines

I have two friends with a 5.0L F150.. and they have issues keeping them running.. but keep in mind.. they're pushing 33's with 3.55. (He's not had a problem with his engine, only tcase) and 37's with who knows what gearing.. but it's a monster..

Overall the 5.0L is a pretty tough engine.

I'd get it from a truck if you like your torque, if you got it from a stang.. it would be geared for higher hp than torque.. with lower numbers overall compared to an Explorer 5.0L.

any other input????
