I am getting ready to do either a 5.5" or 6" lift and would like to be as well prepared as possible. Do most kits include the front and rear or is it seperate? The phrase "kit" would lead one to believe it is everything you need to do the job but I thought I better ask. I will also will be doing a 3" body lift at the same time. Any recommmendations on manufacturers of those. hidden costs therein? Watch-outs for the whole project?

Thanks in advance,

Rick,
Ive read most of your posts, your gonna go with a 5-6" suspension lift along with a 3" body lift? What size tire do you plan on running? 36's? As far as a "kit" goes each company offers different 'kits'. AS far as a body lift goes, your gonna have a nice gap between the body and the bumper. You can make/purchase special brackets so your bumper is raised but then you lose strenght in your bumper(it can no longer do its intended job). I Would check with the Dept of Motor Vehicles to see if there is a height restriction before you go out and purchase all fo this.
Best of luck,

I plan on running the 33x15.5x15 TSL/SX on 15x12's. I had this combination on a Ranger "Back in the day" but bought the truck with the setup already on it. Even with the 9" (I'm guessing) it still rubbed a tiny bit when the wheel was turned completely and the suspension was loaded.

The kit that was on the truck used blocks on the rear and I had major axle rap issues with the setup.

I would love to be able to run 35x15.5x15's but I don't want to have to use a cut-off wheel to make it happen!

I am also into drag racing and have more 8.8 gear sets than I know what to do with. I am thinking 4.56's but I still haven't looked into what front axle is in it. Dana?????

Thanks,
Rick

Rick-
With that much lift, I assume you'll be getting pretty large tires. Another cost to look out for is upgrading your axle gear ratios to match the tire size you go with. Although you can get away without doing it, you'll find your drivetrain life, gas mileage, and performance will drop dramatically. You might want to do a search for "gears" or "ratio" to find out prices and other info about this. Hope this helps. Good luck with your project.
