Are there options for my 95 X?

95 4.0 EB 4 door Auto

Tranny wouldnt drive one day so I had it rebuilt. The rebuild went fine, but after a while went back into "limp mode". Turns out, the harness on the drivers side of the tranny is pretty tore up. Most of the wires are bare. When the O/D light is off it drives perfect..so this is the shops last guess. And I am tired of throwing money at this issue.

My question is: When I do fix the harness, and the problem is still there..do I have other tranny options that will be better as in reliability, durability etc etc. See sig. Thanks for your time.

Really the only other tranny options I can think of is 5spd but you have a message center in the way of that or change both motor and trans to a 5.0 from an explorer everyone says those 5.0 tranny's are stronger than the 4.0 tranny which is probably true.

hey section does that help holdback better when trying to crawl down an incline in 4low 1st gear?
