Hey guys,

I just tinted my taillights and when I hit the brakes they light up fine but they don't show up very well when just the running lights are on. Can you get LEDs that will just plug into the stock part where you plug in the normal bulbs for the taillights? Or is there a type of bulb to buy that is brighter that will show through when just the running lights are on? Thanks guy.

Most LED 3157 bulbs I have seen are not as bright as the ones you have now.
You may need to redo your tail lights tint.

I just have regular bulbs in there now... I thought that LEDs were always brighter?

Not neccesarily always, it depends on the bulb.

AutoZone, Murrays, and Advance have the LED bulbs that replace blinkers/taillights, etc, but theyre just about 12 LEDs on a base, but theyre are LEDs on eBay that have 36+ LEDs, facing in ALL directions, so it creates alot more output, the ones from AutoZone really during the day have like one inch size output, rather than lighting the whole housing up.

Here is an example (This ones white, for like reverse bulbs, but this would be an ideal bulb)

ok... I have been looking on ebay and most are either 24 or 36 LEDs... it sounds like it would be best to get the 36.

Save your money. As dark as yours are tinted nothing is going to show very good.

When I brake, they show through fine, it was just about when the lights are on but not braking.

Yea same with mine, braking is good, but running lights arent the brightest

Have you tried any other lights with yours or do you think it wouldn't help very much?

well I went out tonight and took a picture with just the running lights on and they actually show up pretty well... I don't know what my friend was talking about when he said that they weren't on but they look like they are on to me. No one was awake when I got home to hit the brakes so a picture of that will come later.
