well....for me....the 30th and the 1st are the first available date.....but the week after that is the wabash fall fest...so its going to be packed....

oh yeah....where exactly is the pipeline, anyway?

I'm good for the 30th. The trees should be real pretty too. This also gives me enough time to fix the check engine light that is coming on and put on new front brakes and repack the bearings. I got one of those code scanners from autozone. They're pretty cool, but they don't display the numbers. I have to count off some light blips. Still better than spending $50.00 to get the same information from the dealer.

I am in for Attica on the 30th. As per last time I will be bringing my co-pilot, hopefully she won't jump out of the window this time. I also will still be running stock as well. I'll cross my fingers and pray that I don't get any body damage. I will have fun playing in the quarry again though. I'm gonna need to figure out a way to get some lift with out it costing too much.

Dave

Uhh guys...I was just looking at the Badlands page under the What's New heading and it said that there are no full size vehicles anymore and that starting Sept. 1 all vehicles will need to have a roll cage. Riff, you being the coordinator this time and all, you want to call them or email them to find out what the hell is going on? I don't know if we will even be able to go.

Let me know.

Dave

yeah....i actually just got off the phone with them. the thing that they are trying to get rid of are the long wheel base trucks. they are tearing up the jeep traps, and are taking out trees on tight corners. so we can still play there. i asked on behalf of kampy, and his extended cab ranger, and they said that its ok for him too.

as far as the roll cage goes....that rule is for the topless vehicles (ie. jeeps, fj-40's, suzuki's)...so we don't have to worry about that.

i talked to them about mission impossible III also.....they said that it is a trail that is designed for the hardcore wheelin. you have to pass an inspection, meet a required amount of equiptment (ie. front and back lockers, wicnch, and more...), and then even have to sign a release. He pretty much guarenteed body damage. its some hard core sh^t!

so does this mean that we will be not going this weekend? and are we going to move it to the 30th and 1st? if so...i'll get a hold of rick to change it on the calender....just let me know...

30th confirm

I'm in for 30th. Plenty of time to plan ahead.

Sign in guys! and get ready to .....roll.

:)

hey rfr....are you talking about the 46th Annual NHRA U.S. Nationals in indianapolis? if so....that is the weekend we are talking about.....

:fire:

Got your message Scott, what a bummer. Anyways, the 30th is NOT good for me. Any weekend besides the 30th is ok. Scott says his whole month is booked for him so how about 7/8th? I like the idea of reserving rooms together. I also agree that the more trucks the better. I was looking forward to going this weekend, but I can wait.

T-Bone backed out of this weekend also, chickened out on his truck....he rambled on something about skid plates, body damage and money. ;)

So are we considering two dates? 7/8 looks good for me also. Dave? Riff? everybody else?

It's so nice to see so many new faces here after being away for a month. Looks like we are gonna have fun in Attica.

Can't wait!
:)

The 7th and 8th are not :( good for me because I won't have the time or money to make the necessary repairs to my vehicle and the financial aid won't be in until after then.

Please don't go that weekend.

I was reading the excursion post and was wondering if anyone (scott, you in particular) have ever thought of mounting a fifty calibur machine gun to the top of your explorer (on a remote swivel of course) to make the trails a little more passable when the conditions call for it? Anyways, I was just wonderin'.

Dave

BigDave, I was talking about Oct 7/8th, not Sept.

Andre, are those AR 767 rims there in your pic?

I was told it was one of those enormous truck shows....I believe one of the biggest national shows there are....I heard 3 largest in the nation...truck nationals at Indianapolis raceway...I was told that this is a show I should go to just to exprience...I dunno....Thanks...Pete

Riff, so you know, My first priority is the as of now unscheduled run in NM in oct. If that gets pushed way back (like into nov) I would like to go in late sept. If NM happens for me, how about a run around thanksgiving? This weekend is just too short of a notice for some of us old married guys. Plus I was planning on working on my bars if the weathers decent.

A91EBexplorer, sorry the run got scrubbed, I understand your frustration, it's happened to me before on several occasions. But please don't be pissy. Remember, we all want to go too. Hopefully a date will get picked so everyone can go.

Riff, get ahold of Tom Wilk and see what his schedule looks like. He expressed interest and it would be nice if he could make it as well. Those of us that are close need to do what we can to make it convenient for those that have to travel real long distances like Tom and A91EB.

Pipeline is in northern Wis somewhere, I'm not sure where though. Check out http://www.wi4wda.org they might have some info on it.

Kampy, it's supposed to be friggin hot and humid. Weather channel said 90-95 highs with high humidity.

Can't wait to see your custom nerfs, what are you going to use? Steel pipe?

Thats my luck with the weather. Oh well, I've been in a ditch this week laying 12" sewer pipe so the weekend won't bother me.

I got me a 20 ft section of 1-1/2" x 3" x 3/16" rectangular tubing to build them out of. Only cost me $34. Thats .180 wall thickness, about twice as thick as most mass produced nerfs. They are already cut and welded together, just need to make the feet for them to bolt them to the frame.

Cool, I wish I had the tools to do that stuff. Hope to see you in Attica Kamp.

Later

Frustrating, isn't it.........

well....the 7th and 8th of october are when the badlands are having thier Wabash Fall Fest. ITS GOING TO BE PACKED!!! when i talked to them today, they said that usually the weekend after an event is one of their slowest times. so rather than the 7th and 8th....maybe the 14th and 15th.....i know, i know....it keeps getting pushed back further and further...but maybe this way....since its far enough in advance, baring some horrible tragedy, most will be able to plan around it.

Kampy...who is organizing the trip to NM? is it that La Bajada run that Rick was talking about? I'm wondering on who is organizing it, cause this way i could get in touch with him, and try to get the latest scoop on the date.

A91, How would these dates work for you?

Where does Tom hail from? didn't he express intrest in our first run there too?

um.....so yeah....basically....uh....what do you all think?

14/15th is good with me, lets see what everybody says.

As luck would have it, I'm actually off on the 14th and 15th, so I could venture on over to Indiana. I'm from the Cleveland Ohio area, so I'm probably 6 hours or so away. I'd probably be coming across I-70 through Indianapolis and on over on I-74 if I do get there. Judging from the pictures, it looks like a good time. :)

If I can get some details on lodging or camping and food (important), I'd be interested in going. I'll follow the thread and see what's up.
