I'm all for going. It will give me time to put on my shackles and maybe something else, however I will not know for sure if I will be free that weekend. I have school which is the most important thing right now, and then I have work after that. Today I'm going for an interview for one of my co-op's (engineering student) and they said something about having someone start early for part time on the phone so I have to see what goes on with that too. I'm not going to have any definites untill that week. Sorry I'll do everything I can to go though when the week comes around. I'll even get my "high maintinence" girlfriend to come along too

The 14th and 15th of October? That will work. I would be happy to share a room with one of you guys, but I do have a dog that will be coming with and staying in the room as well. She is not a nuisance or anything, but some people are allergic, don't like animals, etc. If anyone could look into the hotel situation and decide which town we are going to stay in that would be good.

Andre, I promise to get to the IGA on time this time and not trek across the Indiana country side.

Also, for those of you guys worried about what you will be aboe to do with a stock vehicle..Mine is the blue '94 in the pictures and I am completely stock, I had even aired down the tires some. While I wasn't able to do what Kampy did with his locked and lifted ranger... I was able to do alot. Just be prepared to scrape the frame and skid plates when getting high centered, and you will get high centered. If you drive smart and realize your own limitations and the limitations of your vehicle then you should have no problems at all.

that all depends on how crazy you are. I did go up against a couple of hills I should not go after. It was too late then to realize that up ahead terain is getting worse. Not to mention that it was how I got some body damage on my truck. Now, don't go crazy, do things that you feel comfy doing and learn. Later you'll tackle some bigger ones. Goodluck,

As far as rooms go, the only place that i could get ahold of in Danville was the super 8. They have 6 rooms left for that weekend, and they are $80 a peice. they said that we can only put 4 people in each room...but hell...how would they be able to tell who all was in there on the floor and what not...and in danville that weekend there is a covered bridge festival or somthing...i think thats like a fela market thing...so thats why their are only 6 rooms left. i will keep trying for some other places. but if we can only put in 4 people in each room, then thats only like 20 bucks a person. so thats not too bad....let me know what you think...

Get those rooms while they last or we're sleeping in cold tents or uncomfortable trucks. I would prefer motel but if anything tent will do. (realy hate sleeping in my truck). Looks like they have some kind of festival or picnic or what's not when we want to go on the run. Dave, anybody? does anybody want to grab one of those rooms with me and hold it? I can reserve it.

I have a family sized tent and a pad to go under it. If you guys want to camp instead it probably won't be THAT cold out. The only thing that sucks is no showers n stuff.

Riff, one passenger and she probably won't care if we share a room. We would be happy to share with BigDave since we are dog lovers. Whatever works, but I think we should get something defifnite so we aren't screwed. I can sleep in my truck, but I would rather not. Since you started this thing Riff, I would suggest reserving those rooms for now and then we can decide to keep them or not. It's better to have them then not.


As for the trails, I am going crazy.....Katy and I will follow you Scott! :frustrate

Okay guys....Comfirm me. I'm gonna be comming there saturday morning and should arive 11-12(lunchtime) I may have 2-3 passengers...a 4th is possible but I dont know that my girl is totally up for it. So I wanna get a whole room. Um this will be nice....As you can all read, ive got quite the meats for an explore and im on stock gearing and no lockers! I guess we'll see how its gonna do...Maybe by then I'll ahve my front dual shock mounts on...anyways, I'm in 2-3passengers most likely and a possible 4th

OK, I'll be arriving on Saturday, Oct 14th, lunch time, no passingers. It's a 6 hour drive, roughly, so I'm figuring on arriving about 1 PM, though I can leave extra early that morning if necessary.

I'm staying over on Saturday night, and will wheel on Sunday, leaving late Sunday afternoon.

As far as rooms, if there's a spot, I'll split a room, but otherwise, I'll find somewhere nearby. I'll take the sleeping bag and will pull up a floor if necessary. Ain't no thing for one night.

Any ideas on eateries for Saturday night? It would be nice to have everyone sit down and enjoy some decent cuisine.

ok....believe it or not, the ramada in danville is actually the cheapest in that town!! their "smoking doubles" are the only thing that they have left with 2 beds, etc. and they are 59 plus tax per room. they say that they only allow 4 per room, but how can they know for sure, eh? so they have about 20 of those rooms left, but she said that they're filling up fast. so we kinda need to get a final head count here pretty soon, so that we can reserve the rooms ahead of time. so far, best as i can figure, the total head count for all drivers and passengers is 11 people. thats only the confirmed, not the maybe's and the "?'s"......oh yeah....that extra person comes from me...i am changing mine to one passenger.....

Pete, do you want me to reserve a room for just you guys, at the same hotel, or are you going to want to do your own thing?

have any of you guys talked to cameron or t-bone or anyone else? if you do, tell em to get on here and put in their 2 cents.....

as far as food goes...in attica, there are some little mom and pop places, but for a group this size, we would need to book in advance. but i am sure that their are tons of places in danville, so maybe after the first day (or half day) of wheelin is done...we could go back...shower up...blah blah blah blah...and all decide on a place that we could eat at. just a thought....

so do we want to push back the meeting time to like noon ro one on saturday? that would be fine...this way i don't have to drag my A$$ out of bed so damn early!!! hahaha...i know...im a wuss....but hey...what can you do?

I am in...reserve the room... I will arrive Friday night and may stay until Sunday, but I am not sure. I also will probably end up leaving the dog home this time, I'll have to find out if the people that are watching her are going to be in town that weekend, but I am definitely in on sharing a room Andre.

Also,

I'm gonna try and score a video camera with some good zoom for the weekend. That way it won't cost me anything to develop pictures, I can just plug the cam into the video in port on the old 'puter. Also, should make for an interesting write-up. Speaking of write-ups...would a bunch of you guys email Rick asking him about the writeup from the first run? I sent it to him back at the beginning of July and it still isn't up. I have emailed him a few times with out any luck, maybe if you guys would too that may help. (Rick, no offense or nothing, but as they say, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.)

yeah dave....i have talked to him quite a few times on ICQ, and he said that when you sent it to him, he was trying to show Char how to post stuff to the website, so that way she could help him with it. well.....she has since then started going back to school, and he said that he has been really really busy with his work, and building other company's websites....this is why we haven't seen many changes in the page lately.

score the video camera!!! this way we could also send some clips to rick, and have him add it to the serious exploreations video....."this is the way us flatlanders do it" hahaha...i've been waiting to say that for a while!!! lol

Waiting until noon sat is fine with me. If you are going to reserve rooms, Katy and I will take one for sure. Ramada sounds great and cheap. I haven't heard from T-bone, but last I did hear he said he wanted to go. He wanted to travel down together so I will email him again to see what is up.
