No Riffman

I'm depressed, I'm disappointed, but I'm still coming.

Riff don't sweat it, I think you found out how close the community can be, everyone was/is willing to help. I was going to load the rollaway up and come on down. Hey, it's ok, you'll get it together and you'll be in there for the next one. Over the years I've had many, many days like you're having. It gets better.

Grnmachine, it looks like there will be 3 or 4 of us left on Sunday. Matt, Pete, me and you, also 95 explorer if he makes it. If you don't have a cb ask someone there if you can use theirs to find someone, I'm sure they'll let you.

95Explorer, the park no longer allows full sizers to run (too much trail damage) so the F150 would have to sit in the parking lot. Sorry. There are trails and play places for stockers to run. Holler out on cb CH25 if you get there and we'll come find you. You can ask anyone in town where the park is and they'll tell you.

See you guys around noonish.

Riff, one last thought.......... if all goes well sat and it gets together, will you show on Sun? I know it's a big IF right now. Just curious.

Kampy...I know you're in your ranger and it crossed my mind but feel we'll be okay...But my friend is out there in his 90 toyota sr5 ext cab pick up...with you in, I see no reason why he can't
Thanks, Pete

Pete, just so you know, your ramblings confuse the hell out of me. But thats ok. If your buddy goes with an ext cab toy he should be ok, same as me. I think thats where you were going with that. If I'm wrong let me know. See you down there.

thanx for the words of encouragement. and thanx a lot for all the offers of help. i really hope it does get better....

and yes.....IF the truck goes back together tomorrow, i will scream over there on sunday....

Kampy---Ya pretty much hit the nail on the head!

Riff--My fingers are still crossed!
Pete

Riff, when I said it gets better, I forgot to mention it will also get worse occasionally.

Here we go.

BACK!!!!

Back home and can't wait for the next one!! We had a ball!!! I mean that!! I hope everybody had a great time just like me. This is one hell of a group of people. Anyway, I'm posting so soon but I couldn't wait even a minute longer to thank Todd and his wife Anne (aka Chilepepper), Dave, Matt and my "country cousin" Rich, Pete and his gf and Mark(?) and his gf for being there today!!! I had great time wheeling with you guys! I know some guys stayed to wheel againg on Sunday so some of them might be coming here later. Riff! it was a bummer that you couldn't make it. Also other guys that never showed.................... you missed out on some great wheeling!!! Shame on you!!

Pictures hopefuly coming tomorrow!!!!! Check back soon!!!

Later,
:) ............ :)

I had a great time, in spite of the fact that Pete ran into me when I was stuck. I bet he hits old ladies too. :D All in all I had a blast. I did some more things with the truck that I didn't think I could, and a little more than the truck could. (My clothes are soaking in a bucket of water right now and I hope that the stain will come out of the shorts.) It was great meeting Pete, Matt, Mark and their riders, (sorry, I am lousy with names). I'll have to get the pictures developed, because I got some shots of some interesting rigs at the park today. Not Explorers, but still worthy of posting (I finally photographed the elusive Snipe). It's late, I'm tired, more to come later.

Dave

Hey, I'm back and my truck is clean! Well, kinda...I had a blast and am ready to go again, should time permit for me. Damnit dave for reminding me of the lil "run in" so to speak. If it makes ya feel any better, I got it pretty bad...To the point where I think I'm gonna have to get a new fender.....But I slid, and I guess nothing I can do about it now, all is said and done, and I'm still sorry for it. We had a casual time at the dumpy Ramada, but we all got to chat. I love the group we were with and i had a blast! I'm gonna turn in my pictures now, So I will be on tomorrow! Thanks for the great time and I will elaborate later...
Thanks,
Pete

Great Fun

Just got home. Had a great time even though I sat shotgun. Sat. was great, meeting up with Pete and getting lost at the stupid "TREE FEST" and all. Everybody was really cool and friendly. Sun. You guys should of stayed. Kampy and Matt tried the Orange trail. Very slippery and muddy since it rained overnight. I won't get into details but Kampy put that winch to good use. I will let Kampy and Matt tell the story. I can't wait to go on the next trip. Hopefully I will be driving instead. Took alot of pics and should have them up by monday. I will post a link.

Matt, Todd, Pete, Dave, Andre, Mark, Anne, and anyone I forgot (I am very bad with names) Thanks for comin and havin a good time.

Oh Yeah, did I mention Kampy is almost unstoppable.

Welcome home

Glad to see that all went well and without any real troubles. I really wish I hadn't had to work, but that's the breaks in my position. I'm sure I would have enjoyed meeting the gang and taking in some of the pleasures of off-road driving.

So did you guys find any mud or what? Sorry I did not make it down but somebody had to keep Riffman company. Glad to hear all went well. So how did you like the orange trail?

Can't wait to see the pics.

I'm going to start a new thread "Attica II the aftermath" just like someone else did last time.

Ya know Rich, once I hear what went on on the Orange trail, then I'm sure I can add to that "Kampy is unstopable" line....Not to mention I wanna hear how that winch worked out cause I love that setup he's got...Except I may go up a size in it to get the bigger cable...Oh well, can't wait for the pictures...I've got mine back and home and Kampy could also be called tippy in one, and nuts in the other!
Had a blast guys, and I'm ready for more!
Pete

I am back too, washed the truck. No new scratches that I could see, even where I was against the tree. The nerf bars weren't as lucky. Much of the paint has been stripped off and the brackets are pretty tweaked. As for everything else, I'm good. That orange trail was a bear, but managable until the very end where I got stuck on the jeep traps and tree.(see pictures)

We definitely should do this again, what a great time. Someone asked about mud on an earlier post. Yes, it was quite a slop fest on Sunday.

Wow, Matt I am very impressed! I must say, with the little you seem to have done, I love the way it looked and performed. Not to mention ya made it though the orange trail....I guess that is my next challenge..I mean, I've already beat the hell outta my body, although I'm gonna try and fix my fender myself (the Kampy approach, do it all yourself) and we'll see where that goes, but I really wanted to be there, oh yea, KAMPY....we were on the road by 9:40 I was in the truck at 9:25 but Nicole was being slow.

Thanks Pete, your rig was pretty bad ass too. I loved the look with the swampers. See you next time!
