I've decided to cancel my MAC exhaust order and go with the Gibson setup as I don't want a noisy exhaust. I'm not sure which one i'll get whether it be the stainless or aluminized, but that's not my question. My question is that I called Gibson to find out the part number because they have 4 different part #'s listed on there website. I know I have the two into one muffler, but not sure if i need the flanged style or the weld on style. I got underneath my truck and it has both! lol
On one pipe coming out of the cat to the muffler it has a flange style hook up with two bolts, and the other pipe going from the cat to the muffler has what looks to be like a slip on style connection with a hose clamp looking connector holding it on. so which one do i need to order?

thanks!

That's the funkiest thing I've ever heard of. My 98 5.0L has the "Dual Inlet/Welded Flange" type. There are two parallel pipes coming out of the cat. They both end in a roughly rectangular flange that mates up to a matching flange on the front of the muffler. There are three bolts, one top center and one at each bottom corner that hold it on.

Based on your description, yours must be the "Dual Inlet/Slip Flange" type. Call Gibson at 1-800-528-3044 and ask them.

If they doesn't work, call me at (520) 290-3654 and I'll call them for you. If I'm not there, ask for Emerson.

Hope this helps.

I have a picture of what i tried to explain in my post. i got under my truck last night with the digi cam and snapped a pic. can I send it to someone to post on here?

I just ordered my Gibson Stainless Steel cat-back from www.truckperformance.com

i paid $345 and got free shipping. I ended up calling Gibson back and talking to a tech and explained to him what the underneath of my truck looked like and he confirmed that i needed the slip on system, not the welded.
