ok, since this mirror is a stock ford peice, i think it will go in this thread. anyway, i got a auto mirror from a salvage yard, and wired it in to my 92. ive checked the wiring, ive check the relays, messed with the relays every which way, but after i turn the ignition off, the lights dont turn off the delayed time (ex. all the way to the left, 2 seconds. all the way to the right, 3 minutes). i have the slider all the way to the left side, and the lights stay on for more than 2 seconds. they dont go off at all! could it be the mirror itself, or wiring? like i said, ive checked all wiring, and have done any and all combinations of wiring to see if it will change anything. still nothing. now, the headlights do come on when it (mirror) senses its dark out, they just dont turn off. thanks a lot!

One of the power wires has to be hot at all times in order for the delay to work. I edited a post in my other thread a long time ago. Did you wire that in correctly?

how much did that mirror set u back? ive always wanted an autodimming mirror in my explorer. do u need any special electronics for it(like do u need the over head console? mine has an aftermarket sunroof so that wouldnt work for me) its the perfect time for me to do it since my stock mirror fell off last week.

ya, i have the correct power wires hooked up correctly. ive tried every combination of wires at the relays, no luck. im really starting to think that something in the mirror is broken.

the mirror itself was 25. got it out of a 93 limited, so its stock. just need the wiring harness for it to work (except mine :fire:
