Auto headlights went out.

My wife drove the Sport to work today & said when she got home from work that when she was almost to work the headlights went off while she was driving. I had it set for auto headlights, so she turned on the headlight switch & the headlights came right back on. What could cause this to happen? TIA.

She adjusted the mirror and turned off the switch with her fingers.

Probably the sliding switch in the mirror is shot. I've heard of guys opening them up and trying to clean them, but I just bought a used one off a ebay. They show up quite often.
