I think i may be homing in on my Overdrive light flashing occasionally. With no help from Ford might i add (need to make an appointment but the light is never flashing when i go, as apparently they need to keep the truck a day to plug it into the computer?). I have a feeling that my Torque Converter Clutch may be slipping occasionally because when the light is not flashing I’m at 2400rpm at 75mph however when it is flashing I’m at 2900rpm.
One other thing i found out during my endless days of searching the net for info is that when your OD light flashes the transmission goes in to a sort of self-survival mode. Which is why you feel the gear changes are much harsher and the clanking when it downshifts. Just though i would let you guys know.
