parts needed radio shack "274-0284" 1/8" stereo phone plug quantity 2. I needed 2 so I could probe the wires but for the price its cool to have an extra or maybe you have a friend that would like this job done

My new headunit has rear aux input, I did this to retain the factory AUX plug, also needed to have access to this plug for the pioneer auto EQ function

I do not have any plans on returning anything to stock so this is a splice and solder write up, you could modify it in anyway you want to retain connectors

I used black/red/yellow wires... solder each wire to the 1/8 jack and isolate them with electrical tape, when you screw on the connector or they could touch.

the color arrows match the color wire that I used, after making the plug splice them into the matching color arrows on the pigtail that used to plug into the factory radio, the 2 black arrows get connected together since they are common ground

There is not too much more to this project or if I left anything out feel free to ask questions.

I now have a working stock location AUX jack and no hanging wires to get snagged.... yes you could just route a plug into the glove box but what fun is that now....
