AWD issues

Looking into an AWD 97, or 98 xlt. Any troubles with the AWD system? I drove one today that was terrible from stop to start. Front diff seemed sloppy, also leaking. Is this common on these trucks?

Also, check engine light came on when I was on the freeway, can that be related?

mine is VERY tight in my 97 awd i love it it's kinda sqeerly on ice but stud's fix that..that was just a bad truck you looked at..!

AWD is probably ok but don't buy one of these POS's if it has probs. A check engine light can mean anything. Make them fix if first. I have a 95 ltd, I'll sell it for 6500, needs tranny within a year... Besides that runs good. Burns no oil.
