87 Chevrolet Explorer Tsi
I was just wondering if I took an old Panasonic record player/amplifier and electrical taped it to the truck battery and then taped the speaker wires to the little silver wires on the truck speakers if i could play records in my truck. I have an extensive Burt Bacharach collection that I would like to play while on my way to my nieces for church dinner every Sunday. She really likes my truck and also has many records from when she was in her 20's. Also if I ziptied the record player/amp to the backseat do you think it would skip much, or that anyone would try and steal it?? Its a real nice unit that i bought from Pennys for $98, and I dont want to just throw away that kind of money. Thank you!

Regular home electronics run on AC power while the truck's electrical system runs on 12V DC power. You will need a power inverter. Even then, I don't think it would work well.

I have to ask....What is a 87 chevrolet explorer Tsi ?

A *much* easier means would be to just run the audio out of the record player into your computer and make some MP3's amigo. :)

Then give her a CD. :D

I would reccomend putting the turntable on the dash......

Or just but a tape or CD. And I was also not aware that Chevy came out with its own explorer. I take that back; I think they call one of their packages for a van an Explorer.

Really??? But wouldnt that cause more vibrations as well as making it easier for someone to steal?? :D

All i have to say is GO AWAY! you are clearly a forum troll and are only looking to cause trouble. Just look at yer profile, nickname and then this worthless post which is a complete waste of space on the forum.. Again i say: GO AWAY

Obviously the best power source for a mobile turntable setup is the tried and true hand crank method. If it worked for Edison it should work for you.

Good luck!

Bart Simpson?

And he's not even funny. Who is this guy, Bob Saget?

i'll bet, he's a regular poster too embarressed to admit his age and the fact he wants a turn table in his x....

the hand crank idea is the best ive heard so far. i have a home-made ice cream machine in mine (mounted were the center console used to be) and it works awesome. ice cream for everyone.

Damn I've been duped!
