Has anybody tried this ? Price was about $40 at AutoZone, listed to fit Explorer's. Look on B&M's website under SUV's and trans controllers...what do you think ?

Ok, I bought it and brought it home. Then I noticed that when I opened it that it had "GM" stamped on the main unit. Is this correct, or did they put the wrong one in the package ? The package says I have the correct one, but that "GM" stamp makes me nervous. Also, where do I find the ECM connector on a 97 5.0 ? Didn't see it around the main fuse block...

the ECM is basically at the top-center of the engine compartment, against the firewall.
From the front of the truck, look towards the back, directly in the center, at the top of the engine compartment. Not too hard to miss, with all those wires going to it

Mine has Ford stamped on it so you may have gotten one that is mispackaged

also, if you go ahead and hook it up to see if it works, you just may seriously fry something. yours is mis-packaged, take it back and DO NOT USE IT.

BTW- mine had "Ford" stamped on it too.
