Hey, just found this website - it looks awesome! My brother-in-law gave me a 91 xlt 4door 2wd. I just bought a set of 32x11.50 pirelli scorp-at's from sears at $69 each.(good deal I think) I'm gonna put a 4" lift on next week. My quetion is- what backspacing should I get for new wheels that I'm buying this week? I wanna make sure that the tires wont rub- and i kinda like the look of the tires sticking out 3-5 inches out from the wheel-well- but not rubbing is the most important thing. Thanks, UTAH-J

Fenderguy, thanks for the quick reply. What size rims would work best for my application if I use 3.5" backspacing? 15x8, 15x8.5, or 15x9.(I do mostly highway/city driving, some offroading.) Anybody?

wheels-

With 11.50 wide tires yoiu only need 7" wheels but if since you want your tires to stick out a little, 15x8 would do you good. I have 15x8 with my 35x12.50.

I also forgot to say last post, welcome to the site! You will find your questions will be answered pretty much no matter what it's about. Good luck with the weels and tires.

Fender- I appreciate the advice. By the way, I saw a pic of your truck on another thread- nice lookin truck!

Backspace is the distance from the mounting plate to the rim lip. You can measure this on a rim without the tire installed. Set the rim on the ground face down. Place a level(anything straight will work) on the rim. Measure from the mounting plate to the bottom edge of the level.

If you can't do it with the tire off, cut a 2x4 a 1/4" longer than the rim size. Place the tire/rim face down. Place the cut 2x4 on the rim only, it has to sit on the rim only to get the right measurement. Measure from the mounting plate to the bottom of the 2x4.
