Hi, My brother bought a 2011 explorer xlt. I wondered if it was possible - read economic - to install both into his xlt. Thanks, John

Welcome to the forum!

Navigation, no. Can't be done unless it comes from the factory that way (but certain Ford representatives have indicated that it may be possible through a software upgrade at a later, unspecified, date. Got the impression that one should not hold their breath for that to become reality).

The subject of backup cameras has received a fair amount of coverage. Search the forums to find the exact thread/s.

Okay, I did a search and found this thread, I'm just nice that way :)

Prospect,

The navigation and backup camera can’t be added after the vehicle is built, like Vince explained. If you’re willing to go with a backup warning sensor instead, you could try the Bumper Mounted Warning Sensors by Echomaster – Reverse. Go to the URL http://Accessories.Ford.com/park-assist-rear-4-modules.html for the details. :)
