Bad body mounts?

I really thought this was fixed on the 3rd gens....
I've been battling some clunk since I bough the X in January. It's not suspension. 3 mechanics went over that. Now I think it's the #2 position body mounts on the drivers & passenger sides. The pic is blurry, but I can feel about a 1/2 inch gap from the top of the bushing to the frame rail. The other mounts do not have this gap. This isn't normal right?
I found the doorman parts for $50 each.

After closer inspection, position 2 & 3 on both sides are toast. Really sucks I didn't want to go through this again like I did on my Sport.

I was surprised when I found bad body mounts on 03 and 05 sport tracs
I have trucks here from the 80s and 90s, the body mount bushings are still fine… the 02+ trucks they sure screwed something up

It is a pretty Big job To replace body mounts that is for sure. Good time ti install a body lift if so desired. Maybe consider the whole
Kit since you are going to pay over $100 for two you could almost buy the whole kit

There is no kit for the 3rd gen I found. Only mounts seem to be Doorman's & they are each. The 4 I need on RA are $390.

I did some looking yesterday too, energy, daystar, Performance accessories, nobody makes a body mount kit for a gen iii! Only individual mounts…. Very strange to me with all the explorers on the road and this a problem area

$500.40. Not too bad I guess. I found the mounts all over at different prices. Shop only charged me $200 in labor. I took the seats out for them.
Going to drive for a week & then go over the bolts(all 10) once to make sure they didn't back out. Spot clean the carpet while the seats are out, then put back together.

$200 in labor wow that is not bad at all considering what a pita it is to do hahahaha
