Have you figured out your MPG? That would be a better indicator of good or bad mileage.

my tire size is p265/75R15 its and automatic transmission and i get about 11mpg. Is that bad for a 3.0?

Do you do all city driving and have a heavy right foot? If you do then that could be possible. When was the last time you changed the oil, plugs, wires, O2 sensors, air filter, fuel filter, and other maintance items. If theyhavent been changed in a long time that could also be some of the problem.

i have changed all the matience item on it except the o2 sensors just a week ago the check engine light came on and it stayed on for like 2mins and then went off and it hasnt come back on since. I do all city driving and i rarely get on the gas. What else would i have to change on it thanks

got the codes read and it said o2 sensor bank 1 lean. I replaced it but what would cause it to go bad, and will it come back

they get clogged...you should change them every 50-70k miles

To save you a lot of money , take the sensors out that haven't been replaced and clean them. I used brake cleaner without any problem on my X. Try to lighten your load. Anything you can do to lighten your truck would help. Nothing major just spare tire or junk that gets crammed behide the seats. Every little bit helps.

A lot of rangers around here don't seem to get very good gas mileage including 2 WDs.
BTW: Don't take your spare out. As soon as you do you will need it. LOL!

well im not gonna complain anymore i get 18 miles to the gallon now

FWIW: I checked the windshield option/price stickers on the new rangers at a ford dealer today. It says the 3 is rated at 29 mpg highway.
I figure at that rate that town driving should at least get you 22 or even 20 at the worst.

Andy

I am very sure the 94 3.0 was not rated at 29 MPG highway. Gas mileage is also highly dependent on how the vehicle is driven. I would be very surprised to see a 3.0 Ranger consistently get 22 MPG city.
