It just finished raining here and on the way to my friends house I went through a bunch of 2 foot deep puddles.. The car got all wet and I turned around and did it ten more times! it was all fun, and everybody knows, when things are fun.. YOU GET ADDICTEDD... well after realizing i'm ten minutes late to my friends house I continue moving on.. So when i get to my friends house.. I realize that my bottom Stock fog lamps went out? so I unscrew them and find out that Water had gotten into the lamp and blew Both the passenger and driver side Bulbs.. I'm sorta bummed because their aftermarket bulbs that cost me 40 bucks and I don't wanna replace the bulb just yet becaue theirs still water and parts of the blown up bulb inside the lamp.. what should i do? Should i just clean up my lamp and buy new bulbs or buy a Aftermarket Fog Lamp to replace the old ones?

I dont know what to tell you about your problem, but its nice to hear from someone else who enjoys a little puddlin' now and again. We have a road around here that gets about 5 20-inch puddles in a row when it rains. Fun stuff.

Doesn't matter what you do, you'll have to find out where the water got in...those lamps are supposed to be water proof.

I had that problem with my headlights before I changed the lense housing for the HIDs.

The aftermarket high-wattage bulbs melted the housing.

Those high-wattage bulbs are notorious for that- high-wattage=high-heat=melted housings.

What's up redshift. :)

It's my experience that Ford factory fogs have never been that good. The round ones in your 2000 are much better than those I had on my 96, but they're still not great.

Either seal the stock lamp well with silicone and get new bulbs, or get aftermarket lamps.

So besides getting Lighting equipment and water in ur engine through the intake.. wut else is bad about going through a water puddle.. Today i think my alarm was trippin out.. I think either it was my spare alarm keypad being messed with or the water from today probably messed some thing up?

Water can mess with any electrical component.

Let's see, water damage:
Electrics
Intake (motor)
Contaminating any fluid such as diffs, tranny, oil, etc.
Hubs and bearings
Lights

That's besides obvious rust and interior damage.

thats the last time i go through a puddle..

If you take the proper steps to water-proofing your ride then you'll be fine.

I have an open filter intake
all breather lines are extended up to under the hood
all lights are sealed
most electrics are routed up out of the way.

I can go through 3 feet of slow water without a problem as long as I don't stop :D

alec, Open filter intake? wuts that? is that another one ur custom things?

Like the KKM or KN FIPK.

oh okay.. I just replaced my fog bulbs with slyvania cool blues.. their not even blue..damit
