Even though so many guys will be staying at the campground I'll opt for one of the local motels... for some reason clean bed sounds better than a stiff seat of my truck... well, that and a shower with running water...

:D

 ...and hope my "NEW" 93 should make it by then...

I don't want to sound crazy....but "alcohol free" and the only vehicles allowed in the grounds are those towing a camper?

How stricked are they on the rules? No way in hell I can pull and camper and my Explorer at the same time. I will be putting up a tent. Also I would amagine if you was not being an ass and not being roudy you could have a beer and not get noticed.

When I was there there definately wasn't a camper rule. The alchohol rule was in effect though and they did drive around on a golf cart everyonce in a while to check on everybody. However, there was alcohol in my group and no one said anything to us. I think if we keep it somewhat controlled and don't go doin donuts around the campground we'll be fine. From what I remember there are couple bars in town though, just in case :D

I don't know why alcohol became such a huge subject...

we're going there to play, meet people and have fun... if anyone wants to travel to the Badlands just to get drunk then stay in your own back yard.

Beer or two should not be that big of a deal but IMHO we're out to make some kind of rule about drinking on this trip... like I said - IMHO

I have a few tents that I can bring. One is really a one man tent(actually 4 person) and I'll have a family type tent. Anyone is welcome to use the single tent and I could take a few in the larger tent.

Come to think of it, my parents have a huge party tent I could grab, it's a 12 person tent I think. I swear it's as big as a house....LOL

Sorry Pete, you have to sleep out with the trucks....LOL

Now now, it'll be in the bed of the truck, ON the blow up mattress in the rear end! I sleep in luxury!

Oh, and which campgrounds are we talking about? Badlands or the Summers or whatever?

I'm more concerned about being able to park by my tent? Anyone know if we can park by our tents at this place?

At Summers you can park by your tent.

Yeah....I've been there. I thought we were all going to stay at this one by the gate though?

What other camping is there?

As far as I know, Badlands has never allowed camping on their site.

there is a campground right outside of the gate to the badlands now...

Nothing has changed, the rules are still the same. I just talked to the guy who runs the campground and he said there is no problem with you bringing your tow rig, trailer and trail rig in the campground. Most of the wording on their rules page is meant for quads and bikes.

There won't be any problem's, other than no shade. Hopefully it shouldn't be too bad in mid June.

Well, my fiancee and I plan on coming, and were planning on camping. I'm not sure about where I want to camp, though.

We're tent campers, and frankly hate feeling like we set our tent up at an RV dealership's lot, which is what the campground outside of Badlands sounds like. I also don't like the no alcohol policy. Do I drink and drive? No. Would I like a few cold ones AFTER being on the trails? HELZ YEAH! I think the name "Attica Family Campground" has been taken a little too far. Does Pat Robertson own the place or something? :p I can understand the idea of not wanting people to drink and then go into the park and hit the trails, but, believe me, if someone wants to drink and wheel, they'll find a way. I would much prefer to camp there, but the description's already leaving a bad taste in my mouth.

Does anyone know what the Summers Carroll Campground is like?
