Hey all-

I'm new here so I'll kill two birds and say hi. I have a '99 stock explorer and about two months I took it into the shop to have some work done, and they told me that I should replace my ball joints because they are worn. I have driven a substantial distance on them without any problems. There are no noises, rattling, or squeaking coming from the suspension. The car doesn't even have that many miles on it (about 84000). I'm going to be drive a lot in a few weekends (about 12 hours over three days). Do you think there is a big risk by taking the car? Will anything bad happen because of the heavy driving? I just don't want to be five hours away form home and have the suspension fall off the car. Hope i gave enough info, but ask me anything else.

Thanks
JZ

This is a hard one to say yes or no to . If you have the money & time get then get it done. The stock are not greaseable show the don't last . I have 2001 and had to have the lower replaced when i had 55000 with ford parts then upper & lower replace at 108,000 this time i had Moog parts but on there the best out there now with over 160,000 still going . If you can't get them replace right now call the shop you took it to and till them you going on trip see what they say
