95 Ranger xlt
Ok folks I have been searching for hours now and cant find the problem I am having any where in the furom. I am sure it's there , just not finding it. lol
So here is whats going on. Just got a 95 Ranger xlt 3.0 5 speed 4x4. Now for some reason My battery light has come , at first it would come on for a little while and then go out, now it seems to be staying on. The funny thing is that the volt meter on the dash is indicating that the battery is charging fine. I have had no starting troubles with the truck , no battery failure, she starts right up and runs great. Any ideas on what is causing the battery light?

I don't know how many mile you have on the truck, but I would remove the alternator and have it check out by local auto parts store. I would so check for the belt tension, making sure it is not slipping.

And don't go by the gauge- run a multimeter across the battery.

Its probably diode problem in altenator, it will cause light while still charging.

hey thangs guys but i did find the problem. It was the wire coming off of the connector on the back of the alt, the wire had come out of the connector. A good cremping and the light is now out.
