Hi all.
My girlfriend has a 1999 Explorer XLT. She had her battery replaced. After doing so, her car wouldn't start unless she used her keyless entry, even if the door was unlocked, to start the car.
The dealership told us it was because the security system in the car would get stupid and somehow reset itself to protect itself from theft when a battery is changed.
It will cost her over 100 dollars to have it fixed by the company that made the security system for the car, as not even the dealership can fix the problem. We both find the flaw in the security system something she shouldn't have to pay for.
Change your batter= pay money to fix a flaw of another company?
So my question is this...is there some way to disable the security system entirely without having to fork over cash to the security company that created the problem?
Thanks in advance.
