would either of these work for my 2001 SOHC 4.0L even thought it says to 1998.

BBK
1989-1998 4.0L Ranger, Explorer 66mm Throttle Body
$ 199.95

Edelbrock
1989-1998 Ranger, Explorer 4.0L 66mm Throttle Body
$ 232.39

these are both from Summit Racing

Thanks for any input guys or gals.

I believe that those are for the OHV motors.

Well i think don't the OHV's and the SOHC have the same stock throttle body and intake from what i have seen i could be wrong.

The OHV and SOHC do NOT have the same TB. The stock SOHC TB is 65mm.

They are the exact same thing. BBK gets them off Edelbrock, and they put the BBK stamp on it. The BBK is a bit cheaper usually, but it's the exact one as the Edelbrock. No aftermarket throttle body for the SOHC 4.0, just the OHV 4.0. Since you got the SOHC, they will not fit.

just an opinion- if the SOHC has a 65mm throttle body on it, leave it alone. 65 is really big for a stock V6, and anything bigger would just be over-kill, and possibly reduce torque/hp.

Good point James. Not only that but I think the BBK aftermarket throttlebody for the OHV engine is 65mm(or something close to that).

The BBK TB is 66mm.

... close enough

oh ok i didn't know it was 65mm stock thanks guys. oh and mine is plastic is that good compared to a metal one or it doesn't matter.

FYI BBK doesn't get them from edelbrock, edelbrock gets them from BBK.

Do any of you know if it make a diffreance bbk clam's that it will give 15-20 more horse's and 25-27 more pound of torque. ???????

definately not that much, but it does help.

Cool Thanks Bro
